Effective July 1, 2024, with changes to the Advanced EMT (AEMT) and Paramedic Examination for EMT certification, the Department is adopting the NREMT "ALS Certification Examination" in place of the current Department-approved psychomotor examination at these two levels. Further, as of July 1, 2024, the NREMT ALS Psychomotor Examination will no longer be available. In order to obtain NREMT AEMT or Paramedic certification after this date, all students must complete the new ALS Certification Examination, including those students who may have already completed some testing. Additional information about the NREMT ALS Certification Examination and answers to frequently asked questions may be found at https://nremt.org/Document/Get-Ready-For-The-New-Examinations.
Effective July 1, 2024, ATIs operating AEMT and Paramedic programs must ensure their students meet the Student Minimum Competencies (SMCs) described in AR 2-307 and AR 2-305.
