The Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services (Department), is proposing to update Administrative Requirement (AR) 5-403 Statewide Minimum EMS Data Set. The Department needs to update the AR to implement changes in the new version 3.5 of the National EMS System Information System (NEMSIS), on which MATRIS is based. Attached are both the proposed updated AR, as well as a spreadsheet of the data element changes and the reasons for the change, along with the Data Dictionary with the proposed changes.
We are circulating the attached proposed AR for a 60-day ambulance service licensee only review and comment period, pursuant to 105 CMR 170.347 of the EMS System regulations, prior to final adoption. For comparison, current version of AR 5-403 is on the Department’s website, at https://www.mass.gov/lists/oems-administrative-requirements, in the Ambulance Services category.
